Our approach

Elk belong here. We just look after the land they graze.

Elk are native to Alberta and adapted to its plants. On the southern edge of Diamond Valley, we run the ranch on agroecology: ecology and agriculture working together, not against each other.

Rotational elk grazing builds soil fertility and drought tolerance. Antlers shed and regrow every year. And we are adding solar to move from carbon neutral to carbon positive.

Research partnership

Breeding a healthier herd, one genome at a time.

With Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Applied Genomics Centre, we sequence our elk to understand each animal's susceptibility to chronic wasting disease.

The goal: a CWD-resistant herd that protects our animals and the wild elk population around us, while guiding breeding for meat quality and yield.
